Our community here is special. We have little hierarchy and a high level of autonomy; we have no formal departments but countless informal groups linked by similar interests.

We invite interested prospective undergraduate students and prospective graduate students to apply for admission.

Undergraduate

All prospective undergraduate students apply and are admitted to Harvard College. Students do not need to declare their intended concentration until the sophomore year.

SEAS does not offer separate tours or information sessions. All prospective students and parents should work with the Harvard College Office of Admissions and Financial Aid.

Graduate

All prospective graduate students apply to SEAS through the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS).

Students with bachelor's degrees in science, mathematics, or engineering are invited to apply for admission.

Full-time students begin graduate study in the fall term. Completed applications should be returned as early as possible in the fall of the preceding academic year. We process and review applications in mid-December.

Students and those wishing to apply for Visiting Scholar status apply directly to GSAS. Special Students and those wishing to apply for Visiting Scholar status can apply for general studies or for affiliation with a specific department.
